SUN RA - DISCO 3000

Originally released in 1978, Sun Ra's adventurous "Disco 3000" album got an expanded 2CD treatment in 2007 when the entire concert got re-released as "The Complete Disco 3000 Concert" (= Art Yard 001).

A couple of months ago, Art Yard re-released the slimmed-down original album as Art Yard 101.

A classic.
A beautiful package, great music & fine liner notes by Michael Ray.

  1. I'm reading "Space is the Place", the excellent Sun Ra bio by John Szwed. It inspired me to dig back into my old vinyl LP collection-- I remember buying a couple of Sun Ra LP's at a concert back in the late 70's, either in Ann Arbor or Detroit.

    Anyway, I located two LPs:

"Disco 3000"-- the cover has the same drawing that is on the CD; it has been glued to a blank cover.

"Media Dreams"-- this one is in a totally blank cover.

I've tried to find info on these or similar old LPs but have been able to come up with very little other than that they would appear to be extremely rare. I'm just trying to get a general idea of how much these LPs might be worth.

Any info or insight that anyone might have about this would be appreciated.

    Thanks--

    RJ
